Day 1
Arrive in London to check to your hotel and pick up your Welcome Pack containing all your tickets and travel vouchers. Then join a hop-on/hop-off sightseeing tour on board famous red London double-decker buses followed by a Thames river cruise and a guided walking tour. Return to your hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 2
Take a fast train journey (90 mins) into the west of England to European Heritage city of Bath, a city dating back to Roman times and now a fine city full of 18th Century classic architecture, boutiques, and antique and craft shops. Join the afternoon small group guided tour through beautiful Cotswolds countryside to the World Heritage Site of Stonehenge to wonder at this prehistoric monument before returning via Lacock village which is a popular film location featured in Pride & Prejudice and the Harry Potter films. Stay overnight at your Bath city centre
Day 3
Catch the train (2.5 hour) to the vibrant maritime city of Liverpool, home of the Beatles and departure point for so many emigrants seeking a new life and fortune in the New Worlds. After checking into your hotel, join the Magic Mystery Tour of Liverpool to take an atmospheric journey into the life and landmarks of The Fab Four. Follow this with a visit to the award winning Beatles Story to see how the four young lads from Liverpool were propelled to the dizzy heights of worldwide fame and fortune to become the greatest band of all time. Finish off the day with and evening at the famous Cavern Club. Return to your Liverpool hotel.
Day 4
Leave Liverpool and take the train for the 2 ½ hour journey to Windermere in the stunning Lake District. Check into your hotel and then enjoy free time exploring this quaint Lake District town where you can dip a toe into England’s largest lake, or enjoy a short lake cruise. Return to your hotel in Windermere for your overnight stay
Day 5
Immerse yourself in the Complete Beatrix Potter’s Lakeland & Wordsworth Tour, a whole day of exploration, with detailed commentary, of the many places associated with Beatrix Potter's life and characters, including Hill Top, Hawkshead, Wray Castle, Tarn Hows, Newlands Valley, Derwentwater and Keswick. There’s also a visit to Wordsworth's home, Dove Cottage, at Grasmere, along with a lake cruise on Derwentwater and a visit to Castlerigg Stone Circle. Return to your hotel in Windermere for your overnight stay.
Day 6
Check out of the hotel and take the train (3 hours) through the border countryside and mountains to Glasgow. When you arrive, book into your hotel for the night and spend the afternoon at leisure.
Day 7
Make an early start to join an award winning small group Scottish Highlands tour to see and experience some of the most dramatic scenery on offer in the Scottish Highlands, including Glencoe, one of Scotland’s most famous glens; Fort William, Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain; and Loch Ness, where you may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the elusive monster. Return to your Glasgow hotel for your overnight stay
Day 8
Take to the short train (1 hour) journey to Edinburgh for a day’s sightseeing in the Scottish capital with a hop on hop off tour and a visit to Edinburgh Castle. Return to your Glasgow hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 9
Check out of your hotel and take the train back to London and home.
