Day 1
Heading towards the north of England, your first visit is to the magnificent Warwick Castle, Britain's finest complete medieval castle with fun for all the family. Afterward continue towards the heritage city of Chester area for overnight at nearby Leasowes Castle Hotel(or similar).
Day 2
Journey westwards to the Celtic fringe of Britain and enter Wales, a land of Castles, mountains and legends. The day's first visit is to Conway Castle and the medieval walled town of Conway on the coast. Afterwards, take the scenic route into the Snowdonia National Park to see the pretty village of Betws-y-Coed before returning to walk through the spectacular Bodnant Gardens. Return for overnight at Leasowes Castle Hotel (or similar).
Day 3
Drive across the Pennine Hills to see the treasures of East Riddlesdon Hall before continuing onto the walled city of York to view the Minster (Cathedral) and the historic Shambles and perhaps the National Railway Museum. Return for overnight at Leasowes Castle Hotel (or similar).
Day 4
Today's journey takes you north into the Lake Discrict National Park and into Scotland. Along the way, make a detour to Hill Top, Beatrix Potter's farmhouse, where she penned many a tale, and view original sketches and watercolours at the Beatrix Potter Gallery. Then travel on to see Sizergh Castle before driving to Carlisle to visit Carlisle Castle. Continue into Scotland towards Glasgow for overnight at 4* Sherbrooke Castle (or similar).
Day 5
Spend the day in Scotland's beautiful capital city, Edinburgh and visit The Georgian House and Gladstone's Land for a vivid insight into life in times gone by. Take time to explore and enjoy The Royal Mile, Princes Street Gardens and the many other fascinating areas this wonderful city has to offer. Return for overnight at 4* Sherbrooke Castle (or similar).
Day 6
Begin your day with a visit to one of the largest surviving furnished tower houses, Alloa Tower, before making your way to the nearby battlefield site of Bannockburn. The visitor centre gives a clear insight into the momentous battle between the Scots and English. Drive towards the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park into the land of the Rob Roy legend to enjoy fine views of Loch Lomond. Return via the Trossachs National Park for overnight at 4* Sherbrooke Castle (or similar).
Day 7
Head up north into the Scottish Highlands to visit the Palace of Kings, the crowning place of Scots kings Scone Palace. Continue into the Highland mountains to visit the stunning Blair Castle. The castle has a fascinating history, spanning 7 centuries, and boasts a magnificent 9-acre walled garden. Return for overnight at 4* Sherbrooke Castle (or similar).
Day 8
Return home or add another tour or an extra night.
