Day 1
Arrive at the hotel and settle in. Explore the locality before enjoying dinner in the restaurant and your first overnight stay.
Day 2
Spend part of today in Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh. Here you can visit the Edinburgh Castle and the 19th-century Georgian House. Visitors of The Georgian House can experience a taste of high society living, contrasting with the ‘below stairs’ life of the household staff who made this elegant lifestyle possible. Next move on to Hopetoun House, a place of beauty, tranquillity and architectural magnificence dating from the 17th century. Return to your hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 3
Start your morning early today with a trip to the Angus Folk Museum, where you can experience life as a Scottish land worker in these 6 fabulous 18th-century Angus cottages. The collection offers a vivid insight into the realities of rural life during the past 200 years. After lunch, take a drive into the Scottish Highlands, which have so much to offer: spectacular mountains, waterfalls, tumbling rivers and mirror-like lochs, bounded by crystal-clear seas scattered with magical islands. Here you can walk as far as you like and take in all the beautiful scenery. Return to your hotel for a well-earned rest!
Day 4
For your final day, take a trip to Stirling Castle, perched upon a mighty rock. Royal stronghold, palace of pleasures, regimental garrison; Stirling Castle has played many roles. And on the sweeping plains beneath its ramparts, great medieval armies clashed to decide the fate of nations. Experience the epic 14th-century encounter at the Bannockburn Battlefield Heritage Centre. Finally, visit the House of the Binns, the living monument to one of Scotland’s oldest families, the Dalyells, who have lived there since 1612. It contains a fascinating collection of 17th to 20th-century furniture, porcelain and portraits, revealing the family’s lives and interests through the centuries. Start your journey home.
